About
Hi, I'm Bart.
I help people who've tried AI, struggled, and want honest help without the hype.
After a 28-year career building technology, I finally realized what I'd been doing the whole time: teaching. I just kept calling it something else.
What I Do
I work with three types of people:
1) Engineering leaders who've tried AI integration and hit roadblocks. Failed features. Teams that couldn't maintain them. Implementations that never made it to production. I help them understand what went wrong and build something that actually works.
2) Business teams where AI tools sit unused. Copilot licenses nobody touches. ChatGPT accounts gathering dust. AI features in tools you already have that nobody uses effectively, safely, or responsibly. I help them figure out why adoption failed and establish a plan to change it.
3) Individuals who feel overwhelmed by AI. Not the people "crushing it"—the people who've tried to learn AI, felt lost, and want practical guidance without the noise. I'm building web-based courses for them, shaped by their feedback. (Launching 2026, sign up here [mosaicmeshai.com/ai-courses])

Why I Do This
November 1997: I got a student loan letter for $256.98/month starting January 1998. I panicked and got a "real job"
Six months earlier, I'd graduated summa cum laude with a Biochemistry degree and built my first portfolio career: teaching customers at REI about outdoor gear (measured on education, not sales—it was so much fun) and working as a professional youth soccer coach. I was 22 and building the life I wanted.
I gave my dream exactly six months before abandoning it.
The next 28 years: I spent trying to get back to that portfolio career while telling myself teaching wasn't "real work."
Turns out I was teaching the whole time:
- 21 consecutive years coaching adult triathletes
- Mentored 100+ tech professionals, 25+ now in leadership roles
- Technical blog teaching developers about AI systems
- Five companies founded—every one about teaching or helping people do what matters
- Continuing to coach youth sports as a volunteer
People kept telling me I was "a natural" teacher. They were right. I just couldn't accept it.
This is me getting back to it. Not for six months this time.
What Makes Me Different
No hype. I'm not here to tell you AI is going to change everything. I'm here to help you figure out what's actually working and what's not.
No credentials gatekeeping. I have a Biochemistry degree and a Professional Scrum Master certification. Neither one taught me how to help teams ship AI products. 28 years of curiosity, building things, and teaching people did that.
I've been where you are. I've taken over stalled projects and delivered them. I've launched products from scratch with zero transition time. I've integrated teams across 12-hour time zones and managed 150-person matrixed groups. I've built things that worked and things that didn't. That's why I can help.
Background & Recent Work
I've worked everywhere from startups to Fortune 2 companies across 10+ industries: tech, retail, healthcare, higher ed, nonprofit, energy, sustainability, consulting, agriculture, and manufacturing.
- Applied AI and ML Technical Program Management for enterprise retailers
- Senior Technical Program Manager at major tech companies, leading complex product development initiatives
- Founded consulting practice helping organizations build digital products, restructure engineering teams, and implement machine learning systems
I've mentored 100+ people throughout my career, including 25+ who now hold leadership roles.
I graduated summa cum laude from Beloit College in 1997 with a BS in Biochemistry and Phi Beta Kappa honors.
Blog
I teach by building in public. I write about what I'm learning, what I'm building, and what's actually working (or not). mosaicmeshai.com/blog
